The Ox

The Ox is full of strength and a born leader, they are methodical and good with their hands. They can also be introverted and often feel misunderstood.

Pragmatic and down-to-earth, Ox people are motivated to work hard and have no respect for lazy or careless people. Although they can be easily trusted and find it easy to put trust in others, they are not dependent on friends and family and would rather find an answer or a solution themselves than to ask these people for help or guidance. However, others can, without a doubt rely on Oxen, who are always honest and meticulous about their responsibilities. While they do not feel the need for many distant or acquaintance-oriented friendships, they value the strong bonds they share with their partners and families, and make close friends that last a lifetime.

Though they are quite open-minded, once Ox people have made a decision about something, they rarely change it. This is a defining characteristic that can be seen as obstinacy, but it is actually the way an Ox learns to be strong, brave and straightforward. It is the way the Ox learned to take on tasks and responsibilities and how he learns to be reliable for others. Oxen are more comfortable with the well-known as opposed to the unfamiliar. Yet, beneath their unpretentious, tranquil exterior lies a heart of gold and a motivation to prosper.

Secret Animal

The Ox as a Secret Animal

The secret animal is thought to be a person’s truest representation, since this animal is determined by the smallest denominator: a person’s birth hour.

The Chinese Zodiac is based on astrology so the 2-hour increments of time coincide with the position of the sun in the sky, not the time on your local clock. The sun’s position isn’t guided by daylight savings time or Greenwich mean time so for accurate calcualtion the location of birth may also be a factor.

The Ox as a Secret Animal occurs when someone is born between 1:00am – 3:00am.

General Outlook 2022

You’ll probably be melancholy from time to time. Your life may then undergo some affective or relational disturbances that’ll be unimportant by themselves but that might provoke disorderly reactions on your part. Do the most conscientiously possible what’ll have to do, assume your responsibilities gracefully, and be patient until the fogs definitely disappear.

The most positive element of this year will be due to the presence of the planets Quan Doi and Moc Duc in your sign. Of course, these two planets already positioned themselves this way, but the very adverse star Dau Quan has certainly prevented you from profiting by their support to the utmost. This time, you’ll enjoy much better tonicity and great self-confidence, and this will give you all freedom to benefit from the good influxes of the year. Thus, Quan Doi will help you to be personal, authentic and innovative while Moc Duc will increase your intuition, your creativity, and give you the desire to be generous.

The Rat at Work

The Chinese say others should always listen to the advice of the Rat. Because of their intellect and observatory powers, Rat people possess prudence and perception. They can anticipate problems, and are always able to see the big picture. They can hone in on issues at hand and make measurable judgments. These skills, combined with their sense of aspiration also make them clever operators. Status, money, title, and recognition are important to the Rat. They have keen senses of observation that allow them to foresee upcoming business opportunities as well as potential occupational problems. The Rat makes a better boss than an employee and, although motivated, they can be pinned down by routines. Rats work better in flexible situations where they can be freely creative.

The affect of the sign of the Rat is energetic, and demonstrates enough endurance to fight most any sickness. Yet, all Rats tend to be tense, full of nervous energy, petulant and prone to stress. First trimester [February 1, 2022 to April 30, 2022] – The astral aspects of this period will threaten your liver and your respiratory system. Everything will of course depend on your age and your lifestyle. More than ever get breaths of fresh air and refrain from all excesses. Practice fasting occasionally, avoid stimulants such as alcohol, tobacco and even coffee which can only unbalance you at length. These same planetary aspects will bring about sudden changes of mood and extreme nervousness. Practice a somewhat violent sport or a sufficiently tiring physical activity if you want to let off steam in a harmless way. Above all don’t stay in a corner to complain.

Cunning and thrifty, Rats have a knack with money and are apt to save for rainy days. Rat as a Child

Children born under the sign of the Ox are quiet and amenable. They develop into solid, independent, resourceful children, and are happiest when left to entertain themselves. If interrupted, provoked or forced to do something against their will, they are likely to pout or show themselves, despite their audience.

Generally, Ox-born children are shy, and for many, childhood is quite lonely partly due to them liking to be alone and partly because their siblings are usually much older or younger than they. At school, subjects with a constructive appeal will be of the most interest to them. They like art and music as well. They are creative children who enjoy sports too. They are respectful, polite, hard-working, children, something their parents take very seriously.

The Rat Home Life

The Ox’s home is his castle, a place where he finds relaxation and peace from the everyday hustle and bustle of his career or responsibilities. This is where he spends time with his friends and loved ones. The Ox person doesn’t put a lot of effort into making his house stylish, for he would much rather be comfortable while reading the newspaper or watching television. He doesn’t spend much time indoors anyway, he wants to be outside, smelling the air, planting gardens and trees, which will usually be evidenced by the botanical literature you will find on his bookshelf or on his coffee table. Ox people prefer to live in the country. The Ox generally prefers to decorate his home with nature’s colors, i.e. golds, greens and oranges. However, since the Ox is associated with January, winter colors might be more appealing.

Rat on Vacation

Actually, Oxen are homebodies, preferring the lure of the sofa or the garden to extravagant vacations far away from home. They are very happy just staying at home, spending their summer vacations catching up with the hobbies and pastimes that their workloads have prevented them from taking on previously. Whether they are planting flower beds, or enjoying a sunset on their newly-built front porch, it is all quite satisfying to them. If they do decide to take a trip, you can bet they’ll head for the hills to do some hiking or rock climbing.
